SOOP Download Troubleshooting Guide

URL not recognized
증상
- •No response after pasting link
- •"Invalid URL" error message
- •Download button doesn't appear
해결 방법
1. Check if it's a SOOP VOD URL
Live stream links won't work. Make sure you're on the replay page and the URL contains "vod" or "play".
2. Copy the complete URL
Make sure you copied the entire URL starting with "https://play.sooplive.co.kr/..."
3. Clear browser cache
Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete to clear cache and try again.
4. Try a different browser
If Chrome doesn't work, try Edge or Firefox.
Tip: Drag-select the entire address bar when copying URLs to avoid mistakes!
Downloaded video won't play

- •File downloaded but won't open
- •Black screen only
- •Audio only, no video
- •"Unsupported format" error

1. Check if download completed
If download was interrupted, the file may be corrupted. Check file size and re-download if too small.
2. Use VLC Player
Windows Media Player may have codec issues. Install VLC or PotPlayer - they're free and support most video formats.
3. Check file extension
File should end with .mp4. If not, rename and add .mp4 extension.
4. Install codec pack
Install K-Lite Codec Pack to resolve most playback issues.
Tip: We save as Progressive MP4, which works with most players. VLC recommended!
Download stops midway

- •Stuck at 99%
- •Download progress frozen
- •Browser not responding
- •"Network error" message

1. Check internet connection
Verify your WiFi is connected. Run a speed test.
2. Wait a bit longer
Large files take time, especially 1080p. Don't close the browser, just wait.
3. Check storage space
Running out of disk space will cause download failure. Free up some space.
4. Retry download
If still stuck, refresh the page and download again from the start.
Tip: For long broadcasts, 720p is more stable than 1080p!
Quality options not showing

- •Only one quality option
- •No 720p or 1080p available
- •Automatically selects lowest quality

1. Check original quality
The broadcast may have been streamed in low quality. Old VODs might only have 480p.
2. Check BJ settings
If the streamer didn't broadcast in high quality, we can only download what's available.
3. Check premium broadcasts
Some high-quality streams require SOOP premium membership and cookie setup.
Tip: Newer broadcasts have more quality options. Old broadcasts may only support 720p or below!
Not recognized in editing software

- •Premiere import failed
- •Won't open in video editor
- •"Incompatible format" error

1. Check file integrity
First try playing in VLC. If it won't play, file is corrupted - re-download.
2. Move to shorter path
Very long file paths with many folders can cause issues. Move to C:\Videos
3. Update your software
Old editing software may not support newer codecs. Update to latest version.
4. Use conversion tool
Use HandBrake (free) to re-encode the file if all else fails.
Tip: We save as Progressive MP4 which is compatible with most editing software!
Can't download on mobile

- •Download button does nothing
- •Opens new tab but no download
- •Can't find downloaded file

1. Check browser settings
In Chrome or Safari settings, check "Download location". Auto-download must be enabled.
2. Allow storage permission
Browser needs file storage permission. Check Settings > App permissions > Storage.
3. Check Files app
Downloads might be in Downloads folder. Check "Files" app > Downloads.
4. Use desktop mode
In browser settings, check "Request desktop site" and try again.
Tip: iPhone saves to Files app. Android saves to My Files > Downloads folder!
Browser-Specific Issues
Chrome
Download doesn't start automatically
Settings > Downloads > Turn off "Ask where to save each file"
"Unsafe file" warning
Ignore warning and click "Keep". Our files are safe!
Edge
SmartScreen blocks download
Click "More info" then "Run anyway". Windows Defender is being overly cautious.
Safari
Can't find download folder
Safari > Preferences > General > Download location. Usually in Downloads folder!
File opens automatically
Safari > Preferences > General > Uncheck "Open safe files after downloading"
Advanced Troubleshooting
Firewall or antivirus interference
Antivirus may block downloads
Add our site to antivirus exceptions list. Temporarily disable antivirus (remember to re-enable!)
VPN or proxy issues
VPN can slow down or fail downloads
Disconnect VPN and use direct connection. Korean servers are faster!
Old broadcast download failure
Very old broadcasts may be deleted from SOOP servers
Broadcasts from years ago might no longer be available. Try recent broadcasts.
Simultaneous download limits
Downloading multiple videos slows down or fails
Download one at a time. Wait for one to finish before starting the next!
Still Not Working?
Test with different VOD
Try downloading a different broadcast. If only specific VODs fail, the issue is with that video.
Try different device
If computer doesn't work, try mobile. If mobile doesn't work, try computer.
